What is the Get-Give™ model?
The Get-Give™ is our way of giving back to underprivileged communities in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). A first in the coaching industry, this model allows you to gift transformational LifePlan Coaching or LifeSkills Development to at-risk youth with every coaching package you buy.
Why we give what you get
When we were building Widism®, we asked ourselves: “If our goal is to widen societal perspectives, how can we ignore those who can’t afford our offerings?” Considering the bigger picture, we knew we had to do something different. After hearing a keynote talk by Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOM’s Shoes, then chatting with him at a shark-tagging experience during Summit at Sea, Clay was inspired to design a One for One model for coaching. Today, the Get-Give™ is our way of helping you help others simply by helping yourself.
The Pact Urban peace program: a commitment to positive change
PACT is an award-winning Canadian charity devoted to building peace and hope in urban communities in the GTA by helping at-risk youth and repeat young offenders develop personal and professional skills so they can become confident, contributing members of society. PACT has become a successful example of restorative youth justice as opposed to punitive youth justice after helping thousands of at-risk youth achieve sustainable positive change in their lives.
why it matters: helping the 15%
A review of current youth crime statistics in Canada shows that roughly 80% of all youth-related charges can be attributed to just 15% of youth caught up in the justice system. In Toronto alone, this 15% consists of roughly 700 youth. PACT was created to help break the cycle of recidivism in this specific group of repeat offenders. Without intervention and continuity programs, they will likely remain hopeless and become adult criminals, negatively impacting society as a whole.
In the end, everybody wins
Not only at-risk youth benefit from PACT’s programs. Families, potential victims, tax payers, local communities, and future generations are all positively impacted by the transformation of a single young offender.
